Coppabella is owned by Jason and Alecia Brown, owners of the highly successful Moppity Vineyards in Hilltops. They became aware of the quality of Tumbarumba chardonnay and pinot noir, in particular the quality of the grapes from the 71ha Coppabella vineyard, when purchasing grapes for Moppity Vineyards. Coppabella is run as an entirely separate venture from Moppity.
There's a brightness to this wine, and a spread of smooth musky vanillin, and round after round of sweet, roasted spice and woodsmoke notes. All these things combined make for super attractive drinking, especially when you then add fine-grained tannin, excellent shape, and genuine persistence through the finish. At the heart of this wine though – importantly – is bright, beautifully ripened, fragrant fruit. It's impossible not to be impressed. Date Tasted: June 2026; Alcohol: 13.0%; Price: $45.00; Rating: 94 Points; Campbell Mattinson
Deep ruby with a translucent hue. Aromas of red cherry, strawberry and subtle spice are layered with gentle earthy undertones. The palate is medium-bodied, delivering fruit of red cherry, wild strawberry, plums and rhubarb supported by fine tannins and bright acidity. A silky and racy texture flows through the mid-palate, finishing with plenty of uplift and structure. Bright and super expressive. Outstanding; Drink: 2026 to 2032; Rated: 95 Points; Vino Masters
