G block is back to the Clyde Park range, this small block of shiraz is from the entry block at Clyde Park, rows running east/west on black cracking clay planted to clone PT23. Planted in 1999, the 2019 was indigenously fermented single daily hand plunging before 10 months maturation in 40% new French oak. The bouquet teems with charry oak, confectionary, blackcurrant pastels and raspberry. The palate is in full support and delivers juicy waves of raspberry red fruitfulness, liquorice all-sorts, anise, peppery spice and mocha, wrapped up in firm but sparing tannin. This richly unctuous but finely balanced cool climate gem will blossom with careful cellaring over the next 20 years. Enjoy with slow cooked red meats or aged cheddar.
