Castle Rock Estate is nestled on the eastern slopes of the Porongurup mountain range and is named after a prominent nearby landmark. The vineyard has a cool and elevated northerly aspect, resulting in intensely flavoured wines.
This wine shows great balance between complex barrel ferment characters, and fresh cool climate chardonnay notes of nectarine and citrus. There are hints of honey comb and gunflint characters adding to the complexity of the bouquet.
Nectarine and white peach fruit give the wine a lovely rich and generous front palate. The mid pallet shows a great mouth-coating texture and complexity from being fermented in two year old barrels. The wine displays great structure and balance due to refreshing and harmonious acidity. This acidity also gives a beautiful crisp, clean and lingering finish.
