The Bowen Estate vineyards were established in 1972. Doug and Joy Bowen, joined by their daughter Emma continue the tradition of producing classic Coonawarra wines from hand pruned vines. The vineyards are situated in the heart of Coonawarra on prime terra rossa soil. With over 30 vintages produced at Bowen Estate, the wines consistently reflect the true characteristics of the area. Emma now joining her parents, only enhances the continuity of the classic Coonawarra style.

Delicately handled fine grain French oak supports all aspects of this wine. Situated on the region’s prized terra rossa soils, their cabernet sauvignon is known for its classic structure and ageability. Doug remains on the viticultural side, with daughter Emma now leading winemaking. A deep and inky purple, with the classic hallmarks of cassis and black cherry aromas and notes of bay and mint leaf. Subtle cedar oak, a hint of leather-bound book and forest undergrowth marking extra complexity. Full-bodied with a core of vibrant fleshy fruit and tangy acidity, lined with firm, chewy, lip-smacking tannins. Still excellent value and a top notch drink that will cellar well.
