The winegrowing farm Piero Benevelli, situated in Monforte d’Alba in the heart of the Barolo Langa, is composed by around 8 hectares of vineyards, from which approximately 40.000 bottles of wine are produced. This quantity allows us to maintain a family management of the Company, from the work in the estates to the winery. The estate is a committed to preserve the traditions and not abandon the teachings of those who came before them, at the same time supplement this knowledge with the use of modern technologies.
It’s a lighter style with a fine rose and aniseed perfume, red cherry and dried herb, Fresh, bright, a little rasp to the tannin, but has clarity of fruit and an autumnal character to it. Almond and red fruits on a crisp finish of good length. I like the energy here, even though the tannin is just a bit scratchy and slightly hard. Grows well in glass, and likely to age pretty well, and improve over the medium term. Tasted: Mar 2020; Alcohol: 14%; Price: $30; Closure: Screwcap; Drink: 2021-2030; Rated: 92 Points; Gary Walsh; The Wine Front
