The winegrowing farm Piero Benevelli, situated in Monforte d’Alba in the heart of the Barolo Langa, is composed by around 8 hectares of vineyards, from which approximately 40.000 bottles of wine are produced. This quantity allows us to maintain a family management of the Company, from the work in the estates to the winery. The estate is a committed to preserve the traditions and not abandon the teachings of those who came before them, at the same time supplement this knowledge with the use of modern technologies.
The 2018 Langhe Nebbiolo is a terrific choice for drinking now and over the next handful of years. Sweet tobacco, cedar, mint, licorice and dried flowers add aromatic nuance to this bold, flavorful Nebbiolo. The 2018 is maybe a bit advanced, but in this wine, that just makes it more enjoyable and a great choice for drinking now. Drink 2020-2025; Rating; 90 Points; Antonio Galloni; Vinous
It’s a lighter style with a fine rose and aniseed perfume, red cherry and dried herb, Fresh, bright, a little rasp to the tannin, but has clarity of fruit and an autumnal character to it. Almond and red fruits on a crisp finish of good length. I like the energy here, even though the tannin is just a bit scratchy and slightly hard. Grows well in glass, and likely to age pretty well, and improve over the medium term. Tasted: Mar 2020; Alcohol: 14%; Price: $30; Closure: Screwcap; Drink: 2021-2030; Rated: 92 Points; Gary Walsh; The Wine Front
