From humble beginnings in 1880 as a truffle orchard, the vineyard was converted over to vines in the early 1900’s making it today one of the largest Domaines in the AOP Coteaux d'Aix-en-Provence area. The vineyard is situated 420m above sea-level and aspect is south-west which allows it to receive around 300 days of sunshine. Farmed organically, the AIX Rose is made from the top blend of Maison Saint Aix.
AIX Rosé is the result of dedication and passion. When drinking this wine you will notice a tremendously vibrant and summery taste - the ultimate expression of Provence. AIX has a bright, pale pink colour and has a delicate balance of crisp acidity and soft, ripe summer fruit.
It's a lovely drop. A lovely drink. Pale and dry in the best of ways. Fresh, spicy, refreshing and dry but more-ish. A bit of grip to the finish; a stoney textural kind of thing. Watermelon, cherry and citrus with all those stony spice notes. It won’t blow your socks off but boy is it good to drink. Rating: 91 Points; Campbell Mattinson; The Wine Front
