The Turkey Flat vineyards and winery are now situated on the historic Section One property in the centre of the Barossa. The Schulz family became owners of the Turkey Flat property in around 1865 and while they continued to tend the ancient vineyard, they also developed a thriving butchers business.
Bucking the notion that Rosé is an afterthought, our 'Prince of Pink' has a special place in our hearts & is crafted with a clear purpose. We create the lifted palate of bright, primary fruits by placing rosey-cheeked Grenache in its starring role. The considered additions of Shiraz, Cabernet Sauvignon & Mataro add tannin and intriguing elements of spice & herbaceousness that have come to be this wine's hallmark.
Sourced from specific sites achieving perfect yields promoting prominent primary fruit while retaining appealing palate cleansing crispness.
Lovely perfume with a bit of funk and spice, quiet red fruit and white peach, soft but sure crisp acidity, gentle chalky and flinty texture, a little savoury and earthy on the finish, and very long and composed. Just so spot on. Tasted: Oct 19; Alcohol: 12.5%; Price: $22; Closure: Screwcap; Drink: 2019-2023; Rated: 94 Points; Gary Walsh; The Wine Front
Beautiful rosé. It’s a more serious, lighter, aromatic dry style. The grenache is such a beautiful variety. One or 2 per cent of skin contacted white varieties have been included. Has a little bit of palate-cleaning tannins, with a dry, savoury finish. Has that little bit of grip on the finish, which is all about making it such a good food wine. Best drinking: Now to 2023.
