The Stonehaven winery was built in 1998 by Hardy’s, with a focus to express what the Limestone Coast can offer as a region. Since then the brand has relaunched back into the market with wth a refreshed look with a range of wines for every occasion.
This Chardonnay features aromatic expressions of stone fruit and apple, with a hint of herb and mineral characters. Medium bodied, flavours of honeysuckle and white nectarine support a creamy mouthfeel and lingering finish.
The flavour and fruit concentration of Padthaway is on display with this excellent Chardonnay. It was a cool season ideally suited to building flavour gently. A little oak and partial malolactic fermentation bolster the palate. Generous full flavoured style with subtle butter stone fruit notes. A neat wine for current drinking. White peach, lemon curd and subtle struck-flint complexity. Mid-weight with fine oak support, the palate shows stone fruit and citrus tied to a cool, limestone-derived line of acidity. Creamy lees detail adds shape before a long zippy finish. Drink now to 2029; Rating: 94 Points; Vino Masters
