Yarra Valley pioneers, the de Pury family are renowned for wines of finesse and elegance that epitomise the finest the region can produce. Produced from some of the oldest vines in the valley, these are long-lived wines made in tiny quantities. Yeringberg makes wines from the low-yielding vines re-established on the heart of what was one of the most famous vineyards of the nineteenth century.

Stonefruit, biscuit, nuts, honey, grapefruit. Intense and firm acidity through bold flavour of stonefruit  and grilled nuts, perhaps some aniseed, tang and zest of citrus, and a long perfumed finish of excellent length. Yum. Minimal artifice and loads of flavour. Excellent. Tasted: Nov 2021; Alcohol: 13%; Price: $65; Closure: Screwcap; Drink: 2021-2027; Rated: 94 Points; Gary Walsh; The Wine Front

Where to start? There's a lot of flavour and depth here. It's not too big, although full of stone fruits and citrus, candied and fresh, with some spicy grilled nuts and a creamy lusciousness. Savouriness, too, with oak neatly in place. The overall impression is a stylish wine. Drink to: 2030; Price: $65.00; Date Tasted: Feb 2021; Alcohol: 13%; Rating: 95 Points; Jane Faulkner; James Halliday Wine Companion
