Established in 1977 by Irishman Dr John Lagan, the Xanadu vineyards now owned by the Rathbone family continue to flourish in a near-perfect viticultural environment that inspired Dr Lagan; rich free draining gravel soils; an abundant water supply and a unique maritime climate. Winemaker Glenn Goodall mirrors the original vision; to produce premium wines that reflect the true character of the region in synergy with the environment and vineyards.

Gold Medal & 95 Points - National Wine Show of Australia 2019
Predominantly cabernet sauvignon, 14% of the blend comprised of malbec and petit verdot, 14 months in French barriques. A melange of red and black fruit on the bouquet and palate, with each variety seemingly contributing, layers of mulberry leaf, spicy oak and chocolate also in the equation. Structured to cellar well but certainly enjoyable as it is. Drink by: 2027; Date Tasted: Jun 2019; Price: $24.00; Alcohol: 14.5%; Rating: 93 Points & Special Value Star; James Halliday Wine Companion
