Adelaide Hills chardonnay, fermented wild in new and seasoned French oak. Grapefruit is the dominant flavour. It’s pure and well-enough powered, particularly as its supported here by fresh notes of citrus and steely pear. Oak? There’s a sweet, cedary character but it plays second or third fiddle. Freshness of fruit is the go here. It seems a bit lean and simple at first but as it breathes it gets its mojo going. Alcohol : 12.5%; Closure : Screwcap; Drink : 2017 - 2021; Rated : 90 Points; Campbell Mattinson; The Wine Front
