The Sidewood Vineyard is situated at the 300 acre Ashwood Estate in the cool-climate of the Adelaide Hills wine region, 380m above sea level. Climate, soil, careful pruning techniques and hand-picking play a vital role to ensure that only the best fruit is produced for Sidewood Wines. With the rows of vineyards planted facing East - West, this ensures that combined with intensive canopy management the intensity of the fruit flavour profile will be enhanced.

The StarDozen consists of the following:

3 bottles      Sidewood Adelaide Hills Chardonnay 2020
3 bottles      Sidewood Adelaide Hills Sauvignon Blanc 2021
3 bottles      Sidewood Adelaide Hills Pinot Noir 2019
3 bottles      Sidewood Adelaide Hills Shiraz 2018

Sidewood Adelaide Hills Chardonnay 2020
Styled to be most respectful to the best that Hills fruit can offer, sourced across the best estate and grower blocks. Multi-clonal and cleverly steered through a range of barrel sizes (25% new). It's all about crisp, ripe stone fruit and subtle citrus-focused chardonnay with delightfully balanced oak sitting in support, developing a creamy palate while holding excellent length. Great value. Drink to: 2025; Price: $24.00; Alcohol: 13%; Rating: 95 Points & Special Value Star; Tony Love; James Halliday Wine Companion

Sidewood Adelaide Hills Sauvignon Blanc 2021
Sidewood Estate has won 8 trophies (including this) and 52 gold medals for its sauvignon blanc since 2012. The cut grass, nettle and citrus aromas are joined on the palate by utterly seductive grapefruit and guava fruits with a sheen of just-so acidity. Bargain on a grand scale. Price: $22; 12% alc; Drink to 2022; Rating: 96 Points & Top 100 Wines of 2021; James Halliday Wine Companion

Sidewood Adelaide Hills Pinot Noir 2019
A blend of Sidewood’s single-clonal releases – Oberlin, 777 and Abel sourced from a single vineyard at Oakbank. An interesting tension between the tussle of red and black fruit that makes for a complex palate. A smart combination, the sum of many parts being more appealing than the individual clones. Rating: 96 Points; David Sly; Decanter

Sidewood Adelaide Hills Shiraz 2018
This is the complete package. Cold soak, wild yeast ferment with partial whole bunch, partial whole berry, matured in French oak (25% new) for 18 months. The result is a wine of great complexity to both texture and flavour, savoury black cherry, blackberry and forest notes. Skilled winemaking with 5-star success. Drink to: 2038; Price: $26.00; Alcohol: 14.5%; Rating: 96 Points & Special Value Star; James Halliday Wine Companion
