Greenock Estate Shiraz Cabernet 2016
A big, cuddly, generous wine with nuance is hard to find, but here it is. The classic Aussie blend is done proud. Abundant blackberry, cinnamon, nutmeg, Aussie bush and licorice. Sweet spice is queen, here. As a colleague would say, there's a lot of everything, but not too much of anything. Fine-edged coffee, mocha oak and smooth tannins bring both richness and definition. Drink to: 2031; Alcohol: 14.5%; Rating: 94 Points; Jeni Port; James Halliday Wine Companion

Auld Dean Street Creek Barossa Shiraz 2018
Powerful and graceful at once, the wine shows dark and purple fruit richness with spicy oak, olive, dark cocoa and floral aromas on the nose. The immensely concentrated palate delivers outstanding weight and depth, wonderfully complemented by plush texture and silky tannins, making it delectably satisfying. Tasted: November 2021; Now to 2035; Price: $60.00; Rating: 96 Points; Sam Kim; Wine Orbit

Lienert Tierra del Puerco Field Marshall Shiraz 2020
A plush plummy little beauty from brothers John and James Lienert's estate-grown fruit. 15 months in seasoned French oak and I like their detail when they say "We hired a saxophone player to play Careless Whispers all night to the grapes to make them even cooler". Laden with spice and pure, juicy plum and berry fruits, Barossa earth, mulberry and cranberry high-tones, chalky tannin and an effortless air of drinkability. Great value. Drink to: 2026; Price: $25.00; Alcohol: 14%; Rating: 92 Points & Special Value Star; Dave Brookes; James Halliday Wine Companion

Schwarz Wine Co The Grower GSM 2021
Medium deep crimson, intense blackberry, musky plum hint strawberry aromas with charcuterie notes. Seductive plate with fresh buoyant dark berry meaty flavours, chocolaty textures, lovely Mid-palate richness and acid line. Lovely fruit complexity, richness flavour and structure. Alcohol: 14.2%; Drink: 2023 - 2028; Rating: 96 Points; Andrew Caillard MW
