Located in the heart of Australia’s iconic Barossa wine region, St Hallett has been producing fine wines since it was established in 1944. All the fruit used in St Hallett wine is grown in the Barossa. It is their dedication to keeping parcels separate through fermentation and maturation - combined with the Barossa’s rich and diverse range of vines and soils - that allows them to craft an exciting range of full flavoured and interestingly textured wines which are savoured around the world and recognised as benchmarks of the region.
The grapes for Blockhead Shiraz Grenache are sourced from family owned vineyards. The Shiraz comes from the central and northern Barossa Valley, while the vibrant Grenache was selected from a vineyard on the South western edge of the Barossa Valley.
Voluptuous, juicy red berry, dark chocolate and savoury spice flavours with soft flowing tannins, smooth and balanced. The Blockhead range is characterised by its drinkability and its soft, lush and generous palate.

75% shiraz, 20% grenache and 5% touriga, crushed and destemmed, 7 days on skins, matured in 15% new French oak, the balance used American. The sophisticated approach to the oak has paid dividends, the medium-bodied wine flowing along the palate in an unbroken stream. Drink to: 2033; Price: $27.00; Date Tasted: Jan 2020; Alcohol: 14%; Rating: 94 Points & Special Value Star; James Halliday Wine Companion
This is great value: it’s an excellent early-drinking style but also has good structure and would cellar well. A vivid purple/red colour leads into a bold aroma of plums and spices, fruit leading the charge. Medium-weight, soft, balanced and delicious, with light but positive tannins.
