Sorby Adams Wines is a family brand - Anna Louisa Sorby married Augustus Crichton Adams in the early 1800’s in Hertfordshire and has been a family name ever since.
Very pale straw with green edges on the nose. The palate is elegantly expressed, the inviting bouquet shows rockmelon and mandarins with Jasmine and fresh pear. A juicy palate, finely textured with citrus and pome fruits. Beautifully rounded, offering flowing mouthfeel and bright fruit flavours. Serve chilled to enjoy its refreshment.
Delightfully fruited and inviting, the bouquet shows nectarine, green pear and floral aromas with a hint of oatmeal complexity. It’s equally charming on the palate, displaying rounded mouthfeel and juicy fruit flavours, leading to a delectably refreshing finish. Price: $35.00; Drink: To 2026; Rating: 93 Points; Sam Kim; Wine Orbit
Just as it did with Riesling, the Eden Valley provided ideal growing conditions for this variety in 2021. It’s a lighter style to what is the standard slightly overt style for this variety, yet there remains that Gris texture with flavours of pear and apple crumble and a decent splash of citrus for tang. A deeper vein of riper, slightly stone fruit flavours gradually emerge. This is a Gris that I could actually seek a second glass. Or a third. Drink: 2021 to 2025; Rating: 92 Points; Ray Jordan
