Singlefile are a boutique, family run winery dedicated to making single vineyard wines from select sites in the Great Southern of Western Australia. Their name pays homage to the geese who waddle in single file around the estate and the Latin on our crest translates to the pursuit of excellence – a principle they try and live by every day.
Singlefile Wines are unique expressions of Western Australia’s Great Southern. The approach is to track down the best fruit across the sub-regions of this corner of the earth, then apply minimal intervention to craft singular examples of the Singlefile style, stamped with the crest. Singlefile Wines are made in a thoughtful and refined style, with elegance and fruit-driven complexity and an enticing length of flavour.
A blend of 60% cabernet sauvignon, 25% merlot and 15% malbec (it varies from year to year), matured for 13 months in barriques (30% new). This has largely unbridled power courtesy of its medium to full-bodied palate, black fruits ex the cabernet first up, then red berries and a more succulent mid-palate ex the merlot and malbec. Exceptional value. Drink to: 2033; Price: $25.00; Date Tasted: Sept 2019; Alcohol: 13.7%; Rating: 96 Points & Special Value Star; James Halliday Wine Companion
