Singlefile are a boutique, family run winery dedicated to making single vineyard wines from select sites in the Great Southern of Western Australia. Their name pays homage to the geese who waddle in single file around the estate and the Latin on our crest translates to the pursuit of excellence – a principle they try and live by every day.
Singlefile Wines are unique expressions of Western Australia’s Great Southern. The approach is to track down the best fruit across the sub-regions of this corner of the earth, then apply minimal intervention to craft singular examples of the Singlefile style, stamped with the crest. Singlefile Wines are made in a thoughtful and refined style, with elegance and fruit-driven complexity and an enticing length of flavour.
2017 Review: 91% cabernet sauvignon, cold-soaked for 12 days before fermentation and extended maceration, matured in French barriques (40% new) for 10 months. It is supremely elegant and long, with black and red berry fruits, and cedary flavours ex oak and fine tannins. Extraordinary value. Drink by: 2037; Price: $25.00; Date Tasted: Sept 2018; Alcohol: 14.2%; Rating: 96 Points; Top 100 Wines for 2018; James Halliday Wine Companion
