The Sidewood Vineyard is situated at the 300 acre Ashwood Estate in the cool-climate of the Adelaide Hills wine region, 380m above sea level. Climate, soil, careful pruning techniques and hand-picking play a vital role to ensure that only the best fruit is produced for Sidewood Wines. With the rows of vineyards planted facing East - West, this ensures that combined with intensive canopy management the intensity of the fruit flavour profile will be enhanced.

Sidewood’s second single clonal release of the Burgundian (Dijon) clone of ‘Oberlin’. Sourced from only 9 short rows of Oberlin Pinot Noir from our Mappinga Road, Oakbank Vineyard. The grapes were wild yeast fermented in small batches using 100% whole-bunch fruit. The wine was then matured in older French oak barrels, with 85% of the parcel being blended into our Estate Pinot Noir. The remaining component, only 250 dozen, being released separately.

Enticing aromas of ripe cherry, dried herb, game, clove and almond lead to a refined palate that's elegant and silky while offering outstanding concentration and drive. Wonderfully long and harmonious with a spicy undertone. Price: $40.00; At its best: 2023 to 2032; Rating: 95 Points; Sam Kim; Wine Orbit

Limited Release – only 200 Dozen Produced! "Wild-yeast ferment, 100% whole bunches, matured in older French oak. Alluring bouquet, quite lovely, in violet aromatics, musk, black cherry, mulberry, sappy bracken and lively pinot spice. We could debate the quantity of whole bunches – they are evident – but they become another interesting, complex layer in this lean, sinewy young wine. Drink to: 2029; Price: $45.00; Alcohol: 12%; Rating: 94 Points; Jeni Port; James Halliday Wine Companion
