Since 1952, the Schild family have lived and worked in the Southern Barossa, growing grapes and creating wines with authenticity and passion, from real Barossa earth, in a place they call home. Moorooroo Limited Release Shiraz is a wine that represents everything the family hold dear. The wine has historical significance, it is a variety the Barossa is best known for and it comes from a vineyard cared for by generations of Barossa families. History, wine and family are the backbone of the Schild brand and that is what has kept our customers so loyal to the Schild Estate brand.
Sourced from a number of carefully selected estate vineyard parcels mainly in an around Lyndoch and Rowland Flat, Schild Estate’s Barossa Shiraz is designed to reflect the soft elegant palate of Schild’s viticultural home in the Southern portions of the Barossa Valley.
From family vineyards in Lyndoch and Rowland Flat, matured in a mix of French and American oak. It is medium-bodied, and fresh as a daisy with its shower of red and dark cherry fruits. It carries its modest oak with ease, the tannins positive and balanced. Bright red fruit and nutty oak. The palate is soft and open-framed with good intensity and length. I love the energy of the juicy red fruit, which is balanced by leather accents and pleasing savouriness. The balance is excellent. It would make a simply marvellous partner to roast lamb. Great value too. Rating: 92 Points; Toni Paterson MW; Real Review
