The Rymill family has a rich history in Coonawarra, dating to Scottish-born John Riddoch who braved the harsh climate and trekked hundreds of kilometres, subsequently founding Coonawarra in 1890. They have taken up the challenge to develop and handcraft the very best expressions that the unique terra rossa soil and cool climate of Coonawarra can deliver. Wines of finesse, power and balance – redolent of a thoroughbred horse. 100% Coonawarra. 100% Sustainable. 100% Estate Grow

2017 Review:  A bright ruby, this highly savoury cabernet promises from the get go with a nose that is nicely restrained rather than all show and go. The emphasis is on graphite, pencil lead and mineral. Cool. Suave. Impressive. Mid-weighted, little more. The fruit unravels with some air across the cheeks, showcasing cassis and cherry flecked with some gentle oak vanillin and mint. Drink by: 2026; Rating: 94 Points; James Halliday Wine Companion

A very good everyday drinking cabernet that will also cellar well for a few years. The reserved bouquet has savoury dried herb and earthy underbrush characters; the palate full-bodied and supple, with pleasing fleshiness and good length, firm on the finish, with the backbone to go with hearty foods.
