Richard Hamilton Wines are reflective of the distinctive McLaren Vale region with its Mediterranean climate producing great value, fruit driven wines. The Hamilton family have been involved in winemaking and grape growing for five generations. Dr Richard Hamilton now continues his family’s long tradition of involvement in the wine industry.
McLaren Vale is home to some of the best Shiraz in the country. This example from Richard Hamilton captures all the trademark characters of the region and reigns in alcohol without compromising flavour. Plum and cherry fruit is framed by a firm tannin structure and smooth oak, showing plenty of depth and concentration.
While there's plenty of Vale charm in this - the juicy, red and black fruits, the choc-mint, the intensity of it all - there's a savoury overlay that keeps everything in check. Plenty of ripe tannins and intensity yet sits more on the medium spectrum.
