Pirramimma was founded by Alexander Campbell Johnston in 1892 and has been owned and operated by the Johnston family ever since. Winemaking at Pirramimma has been a family affair for over 126 years and is now in the capable hands of Geoff Johnston, a winemaking graduate of Charles Sturt University, grandson of the winery’s founder.

The bouquet displays lemon, lime and Granny Smith apple notes. The palate exhibits lemon sorbet, intense lime and hints of mineral and elderberry, which are beautifully enhanced by crisp natural acidity. The Very cool vintage has provided us with a wine of great length and varietal purity.

Bright, fresh and pristine, the inviting bouquet shows white flesh peach, lemon sorbet, green tea and floral aromas, leading to a finely expressed palate displaying excellent varietal purity combined with refined texture and linear mouthfeel. It’s brilliantly structured by zesty acidity, finishing superbly long and elegant. At its best: 2022 to 2032. Date Tasted: Dec 2020; Price: $25.00; Rating: 94 Points; Sam Kim; Wine Orbit
