This is one of the very best of the Riesling Traditionale line I have seen. The colour is like faded pale yellow, think of the most dilute rays of sunshine immediately after a thunderstorm. Lovely lifted aromas tantalise. Limes, spices, bath salts, a hint of Turkish Delight, and throughout, appealing florals. The wine has immaculate balance and good intensity. Seriously impressive length and a nice flick of acidity to carry the wine. This has ten to twenty years ahead. Superb stuff. Drink: 2021 to 2036; Price: $26.00; Alcohol: 11.5%; Rating: 96 Points; Ken Gargett
A fab Clare vintage produces fab riesling, and Pikes has produced a belter. But what I really loved about this wine was the fact that while you could see a long life ahead – as indeed classic Clare rieslings tend to enjoy – it was fully formed now and raring to go. You don't normally see that in a riesling quite so young. It's a star turn, all right. Drink: 2021 to 2036; Price: $26.00; Alcohol: 11.5%; Rating: 95 Points; Jeni Port
Very youthful in the glass. Aromas of lemon rind, white flowers, talc and jasmine. Zesty, lemony and tangy on the palate, lovely brightness and freshness, quite delicate. A lovely line of crunchy acidity rounds the flavours out very nicely. The length is impressive. Drink: 2021 to 2033; Price: $26.00; Alcohol: 11.5%; Rating: 95 Points; Aaron Brasher; The Real Review
Pretty much the perfect vintage in Clare. It has resulted in some memorable wines and this classy value for money offering delivers with typical style and poise; crunchy lively lemon pith with a zesty citrus tang. The zingy acid carries the palate through to a fully extended finish leaving the mouth fresh and alive. Drink: 2021 to 2031; Price: $26.00; Alcohol: 11.5%; Rating: 94 Points; Ray Jordan
Bright lime and apple aromas here with a very fresh stance. Some white peach in the mix, too. The palate has a wealth of powerful lime and white-peach flavor with good depth and concentration. Impressive. Drink or hold. Screw cap. Rating: 94 Points; Nick Stock; James Suckling
