The champagnes of Pierre Gimonnet & Fils are intricately assembled by masterful hands exclusively from enviably positioned and painstakingly tended old vines. Every cuvée sings its aspiration of ‘precision, purity and minerality’, each speaking articulately of its place in the northern Côte des Blancs through expressive, chalky minerality, without one molecule of detail out of place. With high-strung tension, crystalline structure and rapier-sharp precision, these are blanc de blancs champagnes charged with an energy that will sustain them long indeed. They represent some of the best-value apéritif champagnes of all - The Champagne Guide 2016-2017, Tyson Stelzer
Selected from only the great years, la cuvée Brut Fleuron is a wise assembly of our different soils, representative of the vintage. It can represent 30 to 50% of a harvest. This always has the best relationship between quality/price/ and pleasure of our range.
The 2009 Brut Fleuron is round, voluptuous and racy. Explosive and spherical on the palate, the 2009 exudes richness, with plenty of the radiance of the year on display. Tropical inflections abound in a deep, boisterous Champagne that feels very ripe by Gimonnet standards. Still, there is so much to like, especially the way the wine maintains so much freshness given its intensity. Rating: 95 Points; Antonio Galloni; Vinous
