Vale Peter Lehmann, a member of the Order of Australia, the original Baron of the Barossa, and a legend of Australian wine, helped shape the wine industry over seven decades. Peter Lehmann established the Tanunda-based winery that bears his name in 1979, creating a wine brand that today signifies quality Barossa winemaking. Each vintage, over 140 grape growers supply Peter Lehmann Wines with quality fruit from over 700 hand-tended vineyards located throughout the Barossa.
Often referred to as the ‘Jewel in the Crown’ the Black Queen Sparkling Shiraz is a unique and indulgent wine using grapes sourced from premium vineyards in the Barossa region, used to craft this exceptional wine. Best enjoyed chilled, and matches beautifully with rock oysters or roast turkey. A true celebratory wine to enjoy with family, friends and fine food.
2013 Review: This joyous wine was aged in 300l hogsheads before a whopping 5 years on lees, following the traditional method: a second fermentation in bottle. The result is a giddy, frothy glass of red with a solid lick of sweetness oozing across maraschino cherry, root spice and earthy oak scents, akin to dried porcini and chestnut. Price: $45.00; Date Tasted: Mar 2019; Rating: 94 Points & Special Value Star; James Halliday Wine Companion
