Established in 1976, Petaluma has unlocked the great potential of Riesling from the Hanlin Hill Vineyard in Clare, pioneered the Piccadilly Valley and Mount Barker in the Adelaide Hills and cemented the pedigree of the Evans Vineyard in Coonawarra, South Australia.

A full flavoured, richly textured wine. White peach, nectarine and lemon curd dominate the wine. Crunchy ripe apple and grapefruit complement the creamy barrel ferment complexity with light smoky toasty notes. Lemon meringue heralds a long layered finish with soft alluring acidity. A wonderful example of the modern Australian style and a testament to the great Piccadilly Valley vineyards Petaluma planted in the early 1980’s.

Light-medium yellow with a complex bouquet of toasted nuts, cashew and almond, the palate rich and complex, full flavoured yet elegantly structured, some wheaty notes and there is richness and fullness on palate that finishes right out in a very long-lingering aftertaste. Spicy oak adds extra layers without being intrusive. A faint impression of sweetness sits in the core adding an extra degree of richness. Powerful, satisfying finish. A statuesque chardonnay.
