Situated on the downward slopes of the highest hills of the Commune of Montespertoli, the territory lies to the south-west of Florence, in the area between two valleys Val di Pesa e Val d'Elsa; a chain of hills in an open and sunny countryside where cypress trees sway in the wind, ploughed fields lie close to woodland or alternate with vineyards and olive groves in a perfect harmony of space and colour.
Showing a bit of development to flavour and colour, but still packed with flavour. Ripe cherry, suede leather, liquorice, dried herb and spicy biscuits. Fleshy, thick with tannin and herb-strewn dark berries, freshness with savoury leathery flavours. raw almond and dry suede-like tannins on a solid finish featuring a pleasing Italianate bitterness. Good stuff. Tasted: July 2021; Alcohol: 13.5%; Price: $30; Closure: Diam; Drink: 2021-2024; Rated: 92 Points; Gary Walsh; The Wine Front
