Since its founding in 1978, Oakridge has been making wines in the Yarra Valley and has produced some of the finest examples of cool climate wines seen in Australia. Oakridge is family owned, with a philosophy of producing wines that reflect the terroir of the Yarra Valley. The three ranges explore various grape varieties, meso-climates within the Yarra Valley, individual sites and winemaking approaches.
An allure of aromatics with fruits of the forest, both red and dark berries, a hint of pomegranate, and a touch of Chinese five spice, earth and stem. The palate has a great vibrancy of fruit flavour that is balanced perfectly with supple fruit tannins, raspberry and dark cherry flavours abound with a bright acid line in support and providing drive.
Clones 777 and MV6, the standard Oakridge vinification ever seeking maximum expression of the variety and sense of place. Good colour; the penetration of the wine is a feature deriving from the inherent purity and natural balance of red and black cherry fruit. Wonderful wine.
