Ninth Island wines are produced by Kreglinger Wine Estates at their Pipers Brook winery in Northern Tasmania. The estate grown and produced wines are made from fruit sourced from Estate owned vineyards in the Pipers Brook and Tamar Valley regions of Tasmania. The wine is named after a small island in Bass Strait opposite the Pipers River Vineyard's. The small island covering around 32 hectares is a wildlife refuge for penguins and the occasional seal and of course there are no vineyards there.
Bright lifted aromas of rose petals, fresh strawberry, spice and pouring cream. This wine represents the beauty of Tasmanian Pinot Noir, supported by the fresh zesty structure of Chardonnay. The palate is layered and rich, due to aging on lees, balanced by refreshing natural acidity creating a sparkling wine of texture and poise.
