Maverick Wines was established in 2004. The objective was and is to be one of the top premium boutique wineries in Australia. Although the company is young, Maverick owns 75 acres of vineyards from the top terroirs across the Barossa Valley and Eden Valley. Approximately half of the vines are over 100 years old, and many much older.
A seductively composed red, showing sweet plum, dark cherry, hazelnut, thyme and subtle spice notes on the nose, leading to a wonderfully soothing palate that's filled with delectable flavours. Medium crimson. Fresh red currant, red plum, raspberry aromas with red liquorice, musky, roasted walnut notes. Well concentrated early drinking style with red currant musky plum, parma violet flavours, fine looseknit chalky textures and fresh long aniseed notes.
