In the heart of Provence, the Faulkner family nurtures their vines on hills that benefit from a unique microclimate and favour hand-picking, optimal expression of the “terroir” and environmentally sustainable farming. One of the most technically innovative estates in southern France. Technology however doesn’t mean these wines are not handcrafted, indeed most of the grapes are hand-picked. Provence is the world capital of dry rosés and Le Grand Cros take theirs very seriously.
Dry and fruity, this rosé seduces by its aromatic expression, elegance and freshness. From the heart of Provence on Julian Faulkner’s family estate, this rosé offers the aromatic quintessence of Cinsault, Carignan and Grenache, and a careful balance between character and elegance.
Palest pink gold. Excellent floral and red fruit concentration on the nose, with loads of concentration and weight on the palate, finished with a lovely leafy tone. This is excellent – really crams the fruit in without losing freshness, and has alluringly smooth texture. Superb! Comparable to the likes of Esclans – and potentially age-able for the short term too? Richard Hemming; Jancis Robinson
