The LaSpinetta name has been prominent in Barbaresco since 1977, and the Rivetti clan made four cru Barbaresco wines in 2010. The family’s Barolo holdings came into the fold more recently but have quickly become known for their elegance and strength of character. The yields for these top wines are limited to about 18-20 hectolitres per hectare, and the winery work that follows is clean, high-tech and precise.
Wonderful bright fruit, with hints of minerals and fresh flowers. Full-bodied, with fine tannins and a long, long finish. Concentrated and powerful, showing layers and layers of fruit and tannins. The best I have had from this fantastic winemaker. Best after 2009. 1,125 cases made. Rating: 96 Points; Wine Spectator
