This is a pretty amazing wine. The fruit has such power; the style brings such complexity. Flint, tinned peaches, smoked cedarwood and ginger-like notes roll into almonds and butter. It’s zesty and energetic, lemony even, but there’s so much going on, and it feels so convincing. A warning: the flint/struck match notes here are overt. But it's a pretty special wine. Tasted: May 2023; Alcohol: 13%; Price: $50; Closure: Screwcap; Drink: 2024-2030+; Rated: 95 Points; Campbell Mattinson; The Wine Front

From sites in Woodside and Piccadilly. Whole-bunch pressed. Fermented and matured in new French oak puncheons. The classic white peach varietal aromas are backed up by nutty barrel ferment characteristics and classy French oak. This wine is the epitome of contemporary Australian chardonnay, with its creamy texture, long finish and fresh acidity. A joy to drink. Rating: Outstanding; Best Chardonnay; Winewise Championship 2023
