Hay Shed Hill is a classic old vineyard in the heart of the Willyabrup Valley - the premier sub-region of Margaret River where the region's first vines were planted and the great tradition of Margaret River wine began. Planted in 1973 with the varieties that put Margaret River on the wine map - Cabernet Sauvignon, Chardonnay, Semillon and Sauvignon Blanc - Hay Shed Hill produces world-class wines that reflect the place of their origin; wines of depth and flavour true to region and true to the vineyard.
Beautiful opening hit of perfume engages immediately. This is a classy cabernet from this cooler vintage. Loads of red berry notes on the nose with a palate that is both elegant and intensely powerful. There is a brilliant intensity and brightness that extends easily to a long finish. Date: July 2021; Rating: 93 Points; Ray Jordan; The West Australian
Deep ruby core with a purple tinge at the rim. Black fruit, iodine, and tobacco leaf aromatics. Solid and robust black fruit core that is layered amid a saline wakame minerality. Medium to full-bodied as it flows with precision to the dry finish. Plenty of ageing potential here. Date Tasted: July 2021; Rating: 93 Points & Ranked #2 of 22 for 2019 Cabernet Sauvignon from Margaret River; Stuart Knox ; The Real Review
