The wine regions of the great state of Victoria are some of Australia’s most picturesque and historical. Today we can expect to see exciting wines and evocative wine styles as common fare. Hare & Tortoise represents the steady pursuit of fine, individual, regional wines of great drinkability & interest through patience, knowledge and a hands-off approach to winemaking.
Sourced from the better blocks of an established vineyard in the heart of King Valley. Here the site has perfect drainage and high fertility allowing for good vigour as with much of King Valley. Keen canopy management helps to ensure sunlight is optimised for berry ripeness whilst the coolness of night maintains the all-important bracing acidity.
Pale in colour with radiant green and yellow hues. Freshly cut pear, lemons, ginger and faint pine needle aromas lead to a mouth-filling burst of fruit flavour. Pear, green apple, light spices and white flowers on the palate are pulled tight by refreshing acidity. A satisfyingly easy wine to have on it’s own but will partner well with fresh salads, seafood and white meat dishes.
