Hahndorf Hill is situated in the beautiful cool-climate wine region of the Adelaide Hills wine region in South Australia. They specialise in a range of Austrian grape varieties such as Gruner Veltliner and Blaufrankisch, as well as the more typical cool-climate classics such as Pinot Grigio, dry Rosé and an elegant Shiraz. Their award winning wines are made with hand-crafted care to complement your favourite cuisines.
Enticingly perfumed nose with citrus, nectarine, spice and flint. The palate has vibrant layers of citrus/ ruby grapefruit, spice, juicy acidy and a delicious core of yellow stone fruit. The finish is long with wonderful textural rub.
Has more weight and gravitas than its siblings, but the same balance and length: it's a crying shame that I don't methodically lay down the Hahndorf Hill grüners for a decade or so to watch their development, giving the same reward as fine rieslings.
