Grosset Wines philosophy has remained steadfast over thirty years. The emphasis is on purity of fruit. The organically managed vineyards are hand tended, and each bunch of grapes is harvested at optimum ripeness. The winemaking process is gentle and uncomplicated. With dedication, discipline and the application of knowledge garnered through decades of experience, the result is the finest expression of variety and place.
The significantly later harvest has produced an extraordinary ‘Polish Hill’. Voluminous floral aromatics, with hints of talc and lavender, produce an exuberant youthfulness that gives vitality to a palate fleshed out by concentrated lime juice. The tight structure is there without the steeliness; controlled power, intensity and that characteristic ultra-dry character that thrills on the finish.
Bright straw-green; the bouquet is perfumed and complex, with citrus blossom and a subliminal touch of honeysuckle, the palate flowing on logically and serenely, the balance and aftertaste perfect. The Grosset Watervale is more generous and obviously powerful. Drink to: 2025; Date Tasted: Aug 2010; Alcohol: 13%; Rating: 96 Points; James Halliday Wine Companion
