Gioiello Estate was the chosen name for this family winery, in recognition of past generations of the Schiavello family who worked at a property named Gioiello (‘jewel’ in Italian), perched above a hillside town in Calabria, Italy.
The 2019 Old Hill Chardonnay exhibits aromatics of brioche and cashews. On the palate excellent structure and length are complemented by flavours of brioche, citrus and hints of white peach.
Wonderfully fruited and gorgeously complex, showing apricot, mango, cedar and nougat characters with a hint of brioche. It's concentrated and powerful on the palate displaying outstanding weight and roundness, combined with creamy mouthfeel and seamlessly integrated acidity, finishing super long and delicious.
