Talcy and floral nose, perhaps more so than previous vintages. The palate is intense and focused, searing acidity - an austerity that makes it almost hard, but gosh it's good. Phenolic structure provides a framework from which the fruit clings. There is a saline flick through the finish - crushed oyster shell, creamy, green-apple skin and taut lime pith. Really smart. Drink to: 2040; Price: $25.00; Date Tasted: September 2020; Alcohol: 12.5%; Rating: 96 Points & Special Value Star; James Halliday Wine Companion

The Galafrey dry-grown riesling (RRP $25) is one of great power and intensity while also staying true to the fine linear style of the variety from this region. Lemon sorbet and spicy bath salt aromas with a deep, penetrating palate. The palate is striking and the length extraordinary. This is a wine that will handle cellaring. Drink: Now to 2030; Rating: 95 Points; Ray Jordan

Wow. This has stunning florals, such as jasmine and lemon blossom, as well as white peach, shaved fennel and lemon citrus. So fresh. The palate is very sleek and succulent, wrapping fleshy grapefruit, lemons and nectarines around a central core of driving acidity. Impressive. Drink or hold. Screw cap. Rating: 95 Points; James Suckling
