The history of Fiorenzo Nada starts in the late 1950s when Fiorenzo inherited a small plot in Treiso. Initially, like many makers in the Langhe, Fiorenzo made bulk wines for restaurants and sold grapes to other producers. The beginning of the Estate as we know it was when Fiorenzo’s son Bruno began the journey to develop their own cellars and commenced production expressing the terroir of their wonderful vineyards. With each passing year the Estate embraced continuous improvement to the point where their wines are now world class. Bruno & Danilo now produce many outstanding wines from Manzola, Rombone and more recently Montaribaldi crus. The latter an MGA in Barbaresco not Treiso.
From the Rombone and Manzola in the commune of Treiso, Barbaresco. Musk stick and floral, bright red fruit, ripe tannin, juicy and fresh, pushes through the finish, punch and life. It’s a joyous expression of Langhe Nebbiolo, and a testament to the wonderful vintage. Just excellent. Tasted: May 18; Price: $45; Closure: Cork; Drink: 2019-2026+; Rated: 93 Points; Gary Walsh; The Wine Front
