It is immensely seductive on the nose showing creme de cassis, Black Doris plum, tobacco, cedar and mixed spice aromas, followed by a concentrated palate that displays outstanding fruit purity and depth. The wine offers power as well as refinement, superbly supported by loads of fine, chalky tannins. At its best: 2021 to 2033. Date Tasted: May 2019; Price: $45.00; Rating: 96 Points; Sam Kim; Wine Orbit

It’s a firm, solid, densely-flavoured wine. It’s not about brightness; it’s about intensity. It tastes of cloves, gum leaves, blackcurrant, anise and cedar, the latter gently smoked. There’s a firmness to the tannin but the fruit rolls through. This wine feels young and a little backward but it has stuffing; it has quality. It will mature well. Tasted: Oct 2020; Alcohol: 14%; Closure: Screwcap; Drink: 2022-2029+; Rated: 93+ Points; Campbell Mattinson; The Wine Front
