Deep Woods Estate was established in 1987 and acquired by the Fogarty family in 2005, making it part of the Fogarty Wine Group. Under the FWG banner, Deep Woods Estate has been transformed into one of Margaret River’s most awarded and highly regarded wineries.
A delicate blend of estate-grown Sauvignon Blanc and fruit from selected Southern Margaret River growers. Zesty citrus, passionfruit and herbal aromas are combined with hint of 'gunflint'. The palate exhibits clean passionfruit and citrus flavours, with a core of cleansing natural acidity that provides freshness and poise with a persistent and flavoursome finish.
Some barrel ferment with lees stirring employed, enhancing the texture being the main aim. Abundant varietal expression from go to whoa, with all manner of fruit to be found, ranging from passionfruit and citrus to more tropical aspects like mango and guava. It's ripe and flavoursome on the palate, but there's the crispness of acidity, and yes, it does have texture.
