Deep Woods Estate was established in 1987 and acquired by the Fogarty family in 2005, making it part of the Fogarty Wine Group. Under the FWG banner, Deep Woods Estate has been transformed into one of Margaret River’s most awarded and highly regarded wineries. 

Ivory is a classic blend of Semillon and Sauvignon Blanc produced from both select growers and Deep Woods Estate grown fruit. The 2017 year continued the extremely good run of vintages in the worldrenowned Margaret River Wine Region. A dry, warm January was punctuated with a late rainfall pattern that reinvigorated canopies throughout the vineyards. Picking commenced in mid-February, almost two weeks later than the previous vintage. The aromatic varieties exhibit the fresh acidity and trademark fruit purity that is a hallmark of the region. 

This wine would be my $15 steed for a joust with sauvignon blanc or sauvignon blanc blends from Marlborough and anywhere else in this side of the ditch, its tapestry of citrus and passionfruit covering most contenders at prices soaring above $20.
