Maison De Grand Esprit tells a new story in French winemaking, drawing on tradition and rewriting convention. Emerging from four iconic wine regions - Bordeaux, Burgundy, Rhone and Provence - a single proposition to reinvigorate our experience with French Wine.
L’être Magique translates to ‘The Magic Being’ and can be taken as a direct reference to the presence of the enchanting unicorn in traditional tapestries of a conservative medieval time. A mélange of traditional and modern vinification techniques has given this wine a supple and moreish character. A truly wonderful example of a classic medium bodied Bordeaux.
Varietals: 76% Merlot,17.5% Cabernet Sauvignon, 6% Cabernet Franc, 0.5% Carménère
This has a nice linear line running through it with medium body, light and fine tannins. Currant and blackberry character. Hints of sweet tobacco. Bright and clean. Real Bordeaux style. Mostly merlot with some cabernet sauvignon and franc. Dash of carmenere in the blend. Drink now. Rating: 90 Points; James Suckling
