Vineyards from the villages of Dixons Creek, Tarrawarra and Woori Yallock. Cool growing season with timely rainfall, ideal conditions for premium Chardonnay. Complex, citrus florals, hazelnut and brioche. Textural, drying phenolics, spice, soft acidity, good finesse. Grapes are both crushed and whole bunch pressed and allowed to settle overnight. Turbid juice is then racked to French oak casks and allowed to ferment naturally. Lees are stirred in late autumn and then left to rest until the finishing stages.
2017 Review: Sourced from estate vineyards in Dixons Creek, Tarrawarra and Woori Yallock. An overlay of house style over regional character. Full malo in mostly used oak and lees-aged for 8 months to produce an amalgam of spiced grapefruit, white flowers and green nectarine in an elegant, refined and long palate. Super value. Drink by: 2025; Price: $22.00; Date Tasted: Jan 2019; Alcohol: 12.7%; Rating: 94 Points & Special Value Star; James Halliday Wine Companion
