The guy who helps out at Hoddles Creek making his own pinot noir and chardonnay, selling the stuff at $20, but pretty much applying the same sort of philosophy to the whole project… you do the maths. This is top five best value for money wine I’ve seen in 12 months….. Produced with some of the nous of Hoddles Creek, but individually styled and sourced from selected sites. Mike Bennie (The Wine Front)

Attractive wine from the get-go, nicely balanced, flavoursome, pure-feeling, crisp and refreshing. Opens with green apple, flinty notes, some lemon soap character, a touch of yoghurt

It’s a pulpy chardonnay with grapefruit, lime and oatmeal flavours pushing confidently through. It came across as flinty at first but it quickly settled to display a wealth of pure, pristine fruit flavour. Elegance gets a good look-in too. This is an Upper Yarra Chardonnay with a good bit of flesh on its bones. Tasted: Sept 20; Alcohol: 13%; Price: $24; Closure: Screwcap; Drink: 2020-2026; Rated: 93 Points; Campbell Mattinson; The Wine Front
