Dandelion Vineyards defies normal description, it is perhaps Australia’s most quixotic fusion of vineyard and vigneron. Every bottle signs off with “Wish you were here...” Every wine is sourced from a single site. Founder, owner, winemaker - Elena Brooks - is a polymath and perfectionist on a lifelong vinous treasure hunt, following the inspiration of the Dandelion Flower’s Wishing Clock.
2017 Review: Hand-picked, crushed, open-fermented, 14 days on skins, 18 months in French oak (mainly used). This is a deadly serious cabernet in traditional pre-Parker style, drawing saliva from the mouth with its blackcurrant and dried bay leaf flavours coupled with very firm (but not dry) tannins. Most definitely demands respect. Drink to: 2037; Price: $28.00; Alcohol: 14%; Rating: 95 Points & Special Value Star; James Halliday; Wine Companion
