A sleeper for the vintage, the D'Arcins is plump, juicy and exceptionally beautiful. Sweet tobacco, mint, leather, cedar, smoke and wild cherry notes abound. Expressive floral notes add lift and extend the finish nicely. Drink this racy, impeccably balanced Cru Bourgeois over the next decade. Alain Raynaud is the consulting winemaker. Date Tasted: Feb 17; Rating: 92 Points; Antonio Galloni; Vinous

The 2014 d'Arcins has adequate blackberry and briary scents on the nose, hints of tobacco and cigar box coming through with time. The palate is medium-bodied with fine tannin, classic in style with good substance, well judged acidity and firm but unimposing backbone on the finish. This is a very fine Haut Medoc. Tasted: Oct 16; Drink: 2017 - 2027; Rating: 90 Points; Neal Martin; Robert Parker's The Wine Advocate

A fine red-fruit nose and quite an elegant harmony of fruit, tannins and acidity make this a classic Medoc. Drink now or hold. Rating: 90 Points; James Suckling
