Chris Coulter the owner and winemaker describes his approach as minimalist intervention whilst ensuring cleanliness and purity in the wines. He sources fruit from across the Adelaide Hills, Barossa Valley and Eden Valley. Riverland. Whilst he works with the classic varieties of Chardonnay and Pinot Noir he also plays with some Italian varietals including Sangiovese and Barbera and this year has experimented with a parcel of Syrah from the Eden Valley. the Iberian variety Tempranillo. The project began in 2015 and already has received some great reviews and we think these offer remarkable value.
Crafted with 30% whole-bunch, conferring a weave of spicy complexity while evincing structural mettle to mitigate the exuberance of the fruit. Done well. Think exotic Indian spice, mezcal and red to dark cherry scents splayed across woodsy tannins. The quality of oak across all of these wines is exceptional and as is the wont at this address, zero additions/fining/filtration. An absolute pleasure to drink.
