A very Meursault nose combines notes of roasted nuts and brown butter with those of white orchard fruit compote and soft floral wisps. There is again good verve and lovely detail to the generous yet focused medium-bodied flavors that possess slightly better depth on the more tightly wound, dry and lingering finale. This is a bit austere today but I doubt that will last long. Tasted: Jun 2020; Drink: 2026+; Issue: 79; Comments: Outstanding; Rating: 91 Points; Allen Meadows; Burghound
Aromas of crisp orchard fruit, dried white flowers, blanched almonds and fresh pastry introduce the 2018 Meursault 1er Cru Les Charmes, a medium to full-bodied, layered and enveloping wine that's muscular and structured, with good depth at the core and a lively, saline finish.
