Blue Pyrenees were established through a no expense spared approach, by two of the wine world's most revered, accomplished and resourced estates. A superior standard of viticulture and exacting vinification techniques were the priority, they remain at the very core of the Blue Pyrenees raison d'être. An assemblage of exclusively estate grown Cabernet Sauvignon and Merlot, Malbec and Shiraz, artfully crafted into a seamless style of vigorously perfumed fruit, finely polished tannins and fragrant, flattering oak.
Fragrant blackberry fruits, varietal leafy notes plus toasty cedar oak aromas. Ripe blackcurrant fruit complimented by choc-mint, undergrowth and cedar oak flavours. Proudly medium bodied with classical Cabernet Sauvignon structure of abundant fine grain tannins which contribute to an elegant, persistent dry finish. This wine is unmistakably varietal Cabernet Sauvignon.
Showing gorgeous varietal aromas of cassis, dark cherry, tobacco and subtle cedar on the nose, it’s succulent and persistent on the palate with excellent weight and intensity. The wine delivers elegance as well as power and complexity, finishing classically structured and engaging. Tasted: January 2020; Drink: Now to 2027. Medium-weight, translucent crimson colour. A complex mix of spicy, leafy aromas and just-ripe blackcurrant fruit. Dark soy and cedary oak. Finely-boned and elegant, oak and grape tannin meld very well with black and blue berries. A quiet aristocracy to it. Tasted February 2020; Drink: 2020 to 2030; Alcohol: 13.5%; Rating: 93 Points; Nick Butler; The Real Review
